I embraced the West in everything. It is in my DNA. My favorite subjects to paint are the iconic images that represent our state–buffaloes, scissortail flycatchers, Native Americans, cowboys, etc. I love the romance but also recognize the struggles of all. I thrive on unusual use of bold colors and find that complimentary combinations sing well together. The palette knife is one of my favorite tools to use. It produces unexpected shapes of color and is a constant game of excitement. After graduating from Oklahoma University with a BFA in Design, I moved to Tulsa and became Art Director at a local television station for 10 years.
